Migaku makes it easy for you to keep track of your progress by centering your learning around how many words you know. The meaning of a “known word” can be up to your interpretation, but basically it means you can read and recognize the meaning of the word.
The colorful underlines below indicate the different learning statuses a word could have:

This basically will exclude that word from counting as word you know or don’t know

If you come across a word you already know, simply open the pop up dictionary and in the bottom right corner, click to toggle between the different learning statuses.
<aside> ⌨️ Keyboard shortcuts Alternatively, you can simply hover over the word and hitting one of the following numbers on your keyboard:
”1” - Unknown ”2” - Track (bookmark words you want to keep an eye on) ”3” - Known ”4” - Ignore (does count toward your Known words)

If you study using Migaku Memory (our flashcard app), the words you study will automatically go through the following learning status phases:
Unknown → Learning → Known
Unknown words turn into Learning as soon as you have started studying that word.
If you have correctly passed a word multiple times over a certain period in time, it will then turn into a Known word.
